Travel Notes
It has become a yearly tradition to travel to Victoria, Canada when we are up in the Pacific Northwest. It is a short trip from Sequim, Washington to the ferry in Port Angeles, and two hours later, fish and chips in Victoria!
There's a lot to be said about Seattle, and a lot to be corrected. It does not rain all the time. Doesn't anyone remember the song, "The Bluest Skies You'll Ever See Are In Seattle"?
The Bug got knocked out of commission by a really poor road construction area. But, the construction company reimbursed the money it took to fix the bug, as it should have.
The offending ridge with the concrete bit that effectively opened the Bug's oil pan.
I was scheduled to fly to Nigeria for an AMPP photo project. Not being a safe trip, Lisa was not going to go on this one. On the way, I thought I'd spend a couple days in Belgium. I would be roughing it, camping, to save on the trip. I had a desire to see the sites around the Western Front of the Great War. It is the One Hundred Year anniversary of the war.
Lisa decided, the day before I was to fly out, that she wanted to go along for the Belgium portion of the trip. Needless to say, the flight "deals" don't exist less than 12 hours prior to flight time. However, we secured a ticket and we both were on our way to Belgium the next morning. It was a nice surprise. We did camp one night, but the other three nights were a bit more comfy than the planned campsite. We found out quickly that our American credit cards did not work well in Europe. It took a bit of work to find an ATM that would take one of the cards we had. At least it was a nice view from the ATM.
